Class MPP 2027
My name is Anguzu Keith Joshua, and I am pursuing a Master of Public Policy (MPP) at UC Berkeley’s Goldman School of Public Policy. Originally from Uganda, I bring experience in consultancy, renewable energy, and community development, having worked on large-scale solar-powered water and irrigation projects that connected engineers, policymakers, and rural communities. These experiences sparked my passion for evidence-based policy solutions that bridge global frameworks with local realities, especially in areas of energy, infrastructure, and sustainable development.
At GSPP, I am focusing on international development, energy transitions, and economic policy, with the long-term goal of shaping policies that uplift communities while addressing global challenges like climate change and inequality. I hope to serve as a connector between research, government, and practice — translating rigorous analysis into meaningful change.
Beyond policy, I live by what I call the Utility of Movement. I work out, run every day, and love to hike — not just as hobbies but as a personal theory of efficiency: strong body, clear mind, sharper policymaking. If diminishing marginal utility applies anywhere, it’s probably not to a trail run in the Berkeley Hills (though my legs sometimes disagree).
