Advisor

Ember is a PhD student at the Goldman School of Public Policy at UC Berkeley. Her research interests include economic mobility, inequality in education, and how social policy affects low-income families. She is particularly interested in studying how human capital and social networks influence safety net participation and access to higher education.

Before coming to UC Berkeley, Ember researched economic inequality and educational disparities as an analyst at the Brookings Institution. She holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas.
